Program Description:
ISPA is a rigorous academic program that allows students to pursue their interests in language acquisition, exploration of cultures, and appreciation of fine arts. These educational pathways will prepare our students for the emerging world market and the ever-changing diverse world beyond high school.
ISPA is to provide students with the educational opportunities and support systems available through a small learning community that will prepare students for their college and/or career transition into the work place, and intensive instruction in a world language, and the opportunities to explore areas of fine arts.
Required Courses:
All ISPA students are encouraged to complete
- 4 years of HS English
- 4 years of HS Math
- 4 years of HS Science
- 4 years of HS Social Science as suggested by the ISBE and the HSTW.
ISPA students can take classes in one of the following minors:
- A minimum of 3 years of a world language (French or Spanish).
- A minimum of 3 years of fine arts (photography, sketching, painting, sculpting, computer imaging, and both vocal and instrumental types of music).
